Glenoaks Elementary has two separate recycling programs in place for students, staff and parents.
BOTTLES & CANS RECYCLING:
On Campus
Special Blue Rolling Recycling Carts are located on campus for bottles and cans recycling. Please encourage your children to use the proper recycling containers for their disposable drink and water bottles.
Parents and Youth Organizations meeting on campus are asked to use the recycling containers during all events. For those who utilize the Auditorium after hours, rolling Recycling Carts are located in the lunch area and may be moved into the Auditorium for use by your organization.
Please observe our Recycling Policy while on campus. Bottles and cans collected at Glenoaks are redeemed at the Recycling Center by concerned parents. 100% of the redemption money goes back to Glenoaks.
Recycling Tips for the Kids:
- Empty leftover liquid in the trash before placing the empty bottle or can into the recycling bin.
- Please do not put trash or food into the recycling containers.
Monthly Drop-Off Recycling Program
Parents and students also have the opportunity to donate their recyclable bottles and cans they collect at home to Glenoaks.
Every month (with the exception of September and January) we hold a Drop-off Recycling Drive (click here for schedule). Every grade level is assigned a Recycling Day in which their class (and parents) are in charge of the Drive. Parent and student volunteers are stationed in front of the school
by the Kindergarten Gate and in back of the school by the lunch tables
to collect any recyclables you wish to drop off and donate to Glenoaks. Complete details can be found at the Drop-Off Recycling Page.
Recyclables
collected during our Drop-Off Days will be transported to the Recycling
Center for redemption and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to our
school.
Parents are encouraged to bring their recycling down to the Recycling Center directly. You can donate your proceeds to our school simply by telling the clerk that you wish to make a donation to Glenoaks. The Recycling Center is located at: 540 W. - Please empty all containers
- Please crush containers, if possible
- Please do NOT bring glass containers to school
- Please do not include other plastics (only beverage bottles)
- Please be proud for helping your planet & school!
INK CARTRIDGE & SMALL ELECTRONICS RECYCLING:
Glenoaks has partnered with Swains Arts Supplies & Cartridges for Kids to turn your used ink cartridges and small electronics into CA$H FOR GLENOAK$! 100% of the proceeds raised through this recycling program will benefit Glenoaks!
